I had a wonderful experience with first rate from the initial conversation to the end of the project on replacing our chimney siding and painting them. We had holes and some rotting from woodpeckers and wearing. Our quote was competitive and very comprehensive. David gave us a phone quote estimate and then came to my house to break down the quote and start date. He and everyone in the team was very nice and easy to talk to. I appreciated all the professional feedback on the options of materials we could use and their durability. We had seen First Rate Siding and Windows signs in our n`hood and had some neighbors give them excellent reviews.  Boy did they not disappoint!  David and his crew, led by Walter, were great!  The full siding job was done professionally and with expertise. Painting was done soon after and looks fantastic! Working with Dave at First Rate Siding and Window was a great experience.  We were specifically looking for a Sunrise Window installer.  We did receive a quote from a competitor and First Rate's pricing was significantly better.  We were also looking for a custom color.  Dave provided several samples and worked with Sunrise to meet our request.  We have an older home so I expressed concern when we previously ran into an issue with a door install (another company) and an opening was not square.  Dave reassured us and assigned his most experience installer to our job.  His measurements were also spot on.  We installed during the pandemic and supply chain issues.  Dave also kept us updated on the status.  When the windows were finally ready, delivery and install when smoothly.  We had two issues, one non-functioning window lock and a few color chips.  These issues were address timely and to our satisfaction.  On a side note, I always like to chat with the people who work for the company owner. I found his team to be very friendly and have all worked for Dave for many years.  They all expressed that they enjoyed working for him. First Rate replaced siding on my house and painted the exterior.

I am super happy and highly recommend David and his crews.

The initial meeting, estimation, and contract phase were not only all very pleasant but David had the best price as well of the 3 estimates I got. It was clear from talking with David on the phone and in person that he is very easy and very forthcoming to work with, and he and his team are also very experienced with James Hardie and their best practices. I had a sense that I was getting a great price without losing any quality in materials or workmanship. Everything was done on budget and we were not charged anything extra.

The siding work was done by a team of 3 led by Walter. They were awesome. We have a big house and they worked on it for almost 2 full weeks but we appreciated a small crew of diligent craftsmen and did not mind that it took longer than what maybe a larger crew might have taken. This was also peak summer with temps routinely above 90 degrees. We enjoyed getting to know them, and I made sure they had ice water morning and afternoon. We also made smoothies or bought ice cream bars for them to enjoy with their lunch. They were very appreciative of the gesture, and always humble about it. Things went of without a hitch - we did not have any interruption in wifi, ac, etc wiring/equipment for all of which was either on or near the old siding, they worked around our trees, plants, bushes that were also very near to the siding (Walter even trimmed a tree branch that was encroaching onto the roof!), we have two (friendly) dogs that occasionally needed to use the yard while they were working there, and of course the siding replacement and cleanup was all done very well.

They also did all the coordination with the dumpster guy as well, and First Rate insists on having dumpsters with wheels which are easier on the driveway - as a result we had a medium one first and then a small one.

David was always very upfront about everything, and one of the first things he told me is that on the painting he may not be the cheapest. However, seeing the quality of work from his other crew and the fact that David quoted Sherwin Williams Duration paint versus the less expensive one, I was happy to pay extra for a known entity. There were only a couple of minor issues (door frame was painted with the wrong color) and some window trim needed touching up - all of these were promptly addressed by John and his crew.

We are very happy with the quality of the work and how our house looks, and feel happy to have found First Rate siding to take care of this major maintenance work for us.

David and crew re-sided our house. The end result was beyond amazing. Walter (the foreman) was very straightforward and honest, making recommendations and explaining the process. It's not often that you feel like raving about a company. First Rate Siding was fantastic! David came out multiple times to help me decide on the details of the hardiplank siding I need to replace old vinyl. He was also easily available on the phone. David is highly knowledgable about siding and helped me so much with explanations and was never rushed. Walter and his crew showed up exactly when they said they would, did a 5 star job on the siding and painting, and kept me informed throughout. We heard about First Rate Siding from church friends.  So glad we did.  Working with David and then the crew led by Walter, was a great experience.  David is very detailed and offered great suggestions before the job began.  The crew arrived by 8:30 every day, worked hard and left around 5:00 each day.  The siding looks great.  All rotten wood was replaced.  Siding was installed and a paint crew then came to paint the entire exterior all within one week.  The dumpster and extra materials were removed promptly when work was done.  When siding was completed, the crew cleaned up completely.  The painters worked efficiently and even volunteered to sand and put polyurethane on deck rail.  It was a busy week but we couldn't be more pleased with the new siding, window work and paint job.
